In the Spring of 2019, Liberty Utilities engaged Energy Services of NH to reignite the interest of its small commercial customers in Salem, New Hampshire. Leveraging existing relationships with the Salem Chamber of Commerce, we presided over a complete solution for its members together with local lighting distributors and contractors.
Energy Services pioneer, Mike McQueeney developed a full package program for Chamber members that included no obligation building walk-throughs and comprehensive custom proposals. Some of the key elements included fast return on investment, removal of old materials, upgrades with up to 10-year warranty, and work done by Salem area electricians and contractors.
Taking specific advantage of Liberty Utilities Small Business Energy Upgrade Program, the Chamber was the perfect conduit to Salem’s small commercial and industrial electric customers. Liberty defined the eligible businesses as those with monthly demand less than 200 Kilowatts and an energy bill less than $2000 monthly.
Making presentations through Chamber events and communications, all inquiries got same day response, site visits within 48 hours, and fixed measure cost proposals quickly after the site visit along with optional turn-key completion by Salem electricians and enhanced Liberty incentives for quick completion. The response was fantastic.
In this 5-month program, Energy Services of NH helped 43 businesses in Salem and achieved an annual electric bill savings of $76,138. All totaled, the full project cost for all businesses in the efficiency upgrade program was $250,723 with Liberty providing $106,294 in incentives.
Perhaps Tom Klemm at Klemm’s Mobil put it best. “This is an opportunity every Salem business should jump on. The incentives are terrific and the payback is fast.”
